- July 24, 2009. Another chapter in history is closed. We salute Visteon's North Penn plant in Philadelphia's Northern suburb as it poised for closure. Visteon made the official announcement in this news. The plant, that has been in service since 1942, has made products from car radios with vacuum tubes to silicon chips. Thank you North Penn for your products that have affected families around the world and for the families whose livelihood depends on you. We will miss you.
- Feb 16, 2004. HC908JK3 Eval Board is available now. The M68HC908JK3 Evaluation Board is available for puchase now. Each unit is a complete development system with integrated MON08 circuitry. To begin developing programs for HC08, the user simply needs to connect a power supply and a PC; no other devices are needed. One of the developers for HC08 systems commented, "... This is definitely the best processor, from the programming standpoint, over the PIC and SX chips I used earlier. Both the PIC and SX require Memory Paging and Ram Bank Switching. This can make debugging a nightmare. The HC08 architecture is continuous, well established and very intuitive. I don't know why the PIC gets all the publicity when these Motorola chips are far better."
